Objective: By the end of class, students will be assessed on irony in short fiction and ability to properly format a CRQ i order to improve reading comprehension and written communication.

Choose two of the three prompts below to write cohesive constructed responses. You may use the graphic organizers provided or hand write on line paper. However, it must be in CRQ format:

CHOOSE 1 of the 3 /  20 test points for LTTS:

1. Analyze how Roald Dahl used DRAMATIC irony in Lamb to the Slaughter in order to create suspense.

2. Analyze the differences in Mary Maloney's character before the murder and after the murder and explain how this change in character creates situational irony.

3. Analyze how Roald Dahl creates situational irony by naming the title of the story, "Lamb to the Slaughter."
