Objective: By the end of class, students will identify text structure and practice writing effective constructed responses.

Text Structure Power point

Text structure practice sheets.  Identify the passage as a specific text structure and complete the graphic organizer for appropriate organization.  everyone should have TWO double-sided sheets.

Independent

Choose three passages from the text organization handout. For each, write a constructed response:

What is the author's purpose in writing this passage in  the specific text structure (cause/effect, chronological, sequential, etc) that he/she chose? How does it affect the reader's interpretation?
