Thursday & Friday - Jan 2 & 3 - Figurative Language / Seven Ages of Man

Objective: By the end of class, students will analyze author's use of figurative language in poetry in order to create images for the reader.



DO NOW - 

What idea is the author trying to communicate when he uses the following simile, metaphor and personification?

1. Her eyes were like diamonds.
2. The pillow was a fluffy cloud.
3. The flowers danced freely in the breeze and turned their happy faces to the sun.

Then, evaluate (provide your opinion based on information provided) - what is the most important stage of life and why?
