Tuesday & Wednesday - April 16 & 17 - Fiction Keystone Review

Objective: By the end of class students will review figurative language and vocabulary in order to prepare for the Keystone exam.

On your "Dawn's Awake Poem" write the rhyme scheme next to the lines.

Direct Instruction
Review the figurative language in the poem. 

Answer the following constructed response for the poem - Dawn's Awake."

Analyze how the author use figurative language in DAWN'S AWAKE, to communicate an idea. Use textual evidence to support your answer.

Things to consider:

  • Be specific about the idea being communicated.
  • Remember, figurative language creates an image or emphasizes a point. What does it help you see or feel? Describe that.
  • Some sentence starters that could help you may include:
