Friday, November 3 - Political Ad Evaluation

Objective: By the end of class, students will analyze political ads in order to determine effectiveness of propaganda.

Compare the two political advertisements and evaluate how effective you think the use of propaganda is in each ad.

You can start like this.......

I analyzed two political ads. One was the Ike Eisenhower ad from 1952 and the other was (insert the ad you chose here). Both used various forms of propaganda to "sell" the candidate. 

(then describe at least two kinds of propaganda used in each ad and determine which one YOU think was more effective and why).

When done, go back to your "do now" worksheet and complete the back side. If you do not get this complete in class, you can finish it for homework.

Choose one more political ad / commercial from this link- politcal ads over time . Complete the analysis just as we did together for the IKE ad yesterday.


Then, when you have two ads completely analyzed according to the worksheet, you will be comparing the effectiveness of each ad in a constructed response format.
