The Titanic Essay

-->
We read Hansen Baldwin’s secondary account of the Titanic, we read eye-witness, primary accounts and we watched the film that recreated the events of the tragic voyage. Using all of these sources plus any websites, explain how the prioritization of superficial features in the construction of the Titanic was a reflection of what society valued at the time and perhaps, still holds true today.

Appropriate quote:

Things fall apart; the center cannot hold;
Mere anarchy is loosed upon the world...
The best lack all conviction, while the worst
Are full of passionate intensity.

Yeats (1865-1939) wrote "The Second Coming" in 1919 to describe the moral devastation of post-WWI Europe and describes the split between the upper and lower societal classes.

You may also use the guide provided on the handout to structure your paper.
