Direct Instruction

1. Open the SPEARMINT TEMPLATE.

2. Begin to enter your personal information up top in replacement for what is there.

3. Save this resume under your name and share with me immediately.

4. Instead of SKILLS, replace with "OBJECTIVE."

5. Move "EDUCATION" to be underneath OBJECTIVE. As a high school student, always start with education first, before "EXPERIENCE."

6. Use the "ACTIVE VERB" handout to find appropriate words to begin your bullet points to describe your job experiences. Never use pronouns - every bullet starts with an active verb to describe something you have actually done / accomplished in the position.

7. You must be meticulous in writing your resume. NO TYPOS of any sort. A typo is the first and easiest reason for a potential employer to throw out your resume.
